I had an unforgettable experiences in New Zealand.
I was very nervous when I met my host family on the first day.
I couldn't understand English well.
I asked my host family, ''Could you speak English more slowly?'' and They said ''Sure!!''
I learned then that it was important to tell my feelings.
After that, I gave Bella some Japanese souvenirs.Bella is my Buddy.She was very kind.
I went to Villa Maria College for four days.
The school in New Zealand was very free unlike the school in Japan.
I was able to eat snacks and use my phone.
I thought that it was really good. AndI was happythat school teachers and Bella's friends were nice to me.
The PE class was really fun. I expressed The Little Mermaid’s world. I was fun allfor four days.
The first weekend, I went to the Hanmer Springs with my host family. We got on a bicycle and climbed a mountain there. The view from the top of the mountain was very beautiful.
After that, we went to the pool. I skated a lot of times high slider with Bella．It was fun, but it was cold.
The next days，I went to Christchurch to eat crapes. It was so yummy!! And I went to Hagley Park.It was rich in nature. On my way home from the park, I saw a doctor helicopter landing for the first time. It was cool. When we back home, Bella and I made cupcakes together. We made it cute!! And on this day, I ate lamb loin for the first time. It was very delicious.
Next weekend, I went to the Kaikoura with my host family. I saw a lot of seals. I can't see them in the wild in Okayama. I was surprised to see it closer than I had imagined.
The next day, I got on a jet ski. Running on the sea was very cold but it was fun. It was interesting to Jet Ski put on the back of cars to carry to sea.
I went to the fire station in the afternoon. My host father worked at the fire station, so I was able to go there. I wore clothes by firefighters and looked inside the fire station. And the most exciting thing for me was riding a fire truck. I got on a fire truck through residential areas and roads. This is really unthinkable in Japan. I was very excited‼
At night, I played Old maid and watched Britain's Got Talent. Old maid was very funny. I had an old maid almost to the end. My host family entertained me to the end. I was very happy.
And the last day. I was sad to leave home. Bella couldn't come to the last party because of the swimming contest. Bella and I hugged each other before we parted. It was a very warm and gentle hug.
When I first time went there, I couldn't understand English. But by the time I left, I understood a little. My host family talked to me a lot, so I understood.
Thank you very much for cooking delicious food and talking to me a lot every day. I am grateful toBella and her parents.
And I am grateful to the other host mothers who picked me up and dropped me off. The last party was fun but sad. The hug with the host family almost made me cry. It was a really fun two weeks. And it ended very quickly.
I was able to make a lot of memories through this experience.
I'm so glad we met. Thank you. I want to go to New Zealand again.
永遠に忘れない大切な体験
軽い気持ちで応募した今回のプログラム。応募したあとからやっぱり辞めれば良かったとか何回も思っていました。そんなことを思っている過去の自分に怒りたいです。なぜなら今回の体験で私には数え切れないほど沢山の思い出が出来たからです。
7月25日初めてバディとホストファミリーに会った時緊張で心臓が飛び出そうでした。車で家に向かう途中話しかけられましたが私は簡単な英語以外全然聞き取ることが出来ませんでした。１日目なのに心が折れかけました。けれどこんな序盤から挫けてどうする。単語や「Yes，No」だけでもいいから伝えてみようと思いました。ちゃんと英語を聞き取るために家に着いてから私はすぐホストファミリーに「ゆっくり英語を話してください。」とお願いしました。ホストファミリーは快く受け入れてくれました。自分の意思を伝えることはとても大事だとその瞬間学びました。その後お土産をあげるととても喜んでくれました。そして私もバディからニュージーランドのお土産を貰いました。貰えると思っていなかったのでびっくりしました。
通学体験ではバディの通うVilla Maria Collegeに行きました。学校も日本と全く違いお菓子を食べる時間があったり授業ではずっとパソコンを使っていたりして羨ましいなと思いました。先生も優しくて沢山話しかけてくれました。2日目からは名前を呼んでくれたりしてくれる人がいたり最後の日には授業で映画を見たり、今日で学校は最後だと言うと悲しんでくれる人もいました。
休日はホストファミリーとサイクリングや温水プール、ジェットスキーで遊び、クライストチャーチ市内、アザラシを見ることができる街など色々な所に連れて行ってもらいました。バディと一緒にカップケーキなども作りました。
ホストファザーが元消防士だったので消防署の中を見学したりニュージーランドの防火服を着たり消防車に乗って住宅街を走るなど日本に居ては絶対に出来ない体験をさせてくれました。全てが初めてでとても楽しかったです。
沢山会話をして仲が深まったと同時に少しだけ英会話力が上がったなと感じました。夜はみんなでカードゲームをしたりオーディション番組を見たりして盛り上がりました。どれも忘れることのない最高の思い出です。
そしてあっという間に2週間すぎていき最終日。バディは水泳の大会のためフェアウェルパーティーに来られませんでした。最後の朝お別れする時に初めてハグをしました。とても温かく優しかったです。離れたくないなと何回も思いました。研究課題発表ではホストマザー、ファザーが横で見守ってくれて無事終えることが出来ました。同じテーブルだった学校の先生が「発音が上手になりましたね」と褒めてくれて嬉しかったです。ホストマザー、ファザーも沢山褒めてくれました。2人とのお別れのハグもとても温かくて泣きそうになりました。
最後に私は勇気をだして何回か送迎をしてくれていた別のホストマザーにお礼を言いました。優しく聞いてくれて「話しかけてよかった」と思いました。今回の体験で私は自分の意思を伝える大切さ、怖がらず積極的に行動してみる大切さを学び、分からない単語は翻訳を使ったりして滞在中も知識を増やす事が出来ました。最後に今回の体験に反対することなく参加させてくれた家族、受け入れてくれたホストファミリー、仲良くしてくれた団員・リーダー本当にありがとうございました。
