IKEDA Yoson is one of the masters of Japanese painting and awarded the Order of Culture in 1987. In 1980, he donated his 489 works to Kurashiki-city he was born. Kurashiki City Art Museum, based on his donated works, opened in Nov 3, 1983. The museum have collected over his 8,000 works donated from Yoson and his family.
